THE BEST DAY EVER!
"Confirmed! Green Day will be playing in Brazil in 2010". It was enough news to get me completely euphoric. That's when everything started...
As soon as sales started, on the first day, I guaranteed my ticket.
Five months anxiously waiting, counting each day, wondering how the concert day would be like... How would it be to watch this band, which I love, live. It sounded surreal.
Finally it was October 20th. The big day. The best day ever. The day I was going to see my favorite band live. I guess the clock never ticked so slowly in my whole life.
When I got there, at Arena Anhembi, I could only think that soon I would be seeing Green Day playing in front of me. I could not handle myself from such anxiety.
When the band Nelvilton came, I realized that the entry of Green Day was near. When the opening band's concert finished, Drunk Bunny appeared on the stage, dancing "YMCA", so the penny has dropped: I was at Green Day concert!!
The hit "Song Of The Century" began, and my heartbeat was racing. Then Green Day appeared, in the sound of "21st Century Breakdown", it was UNBELIEVABLE! I just can't describe my feelings watching my favorite band up close, more than that, being in the same environment as my idols, enjoying the same moment. These are sensations which bring so much happiness.
Everytime Billie called someone to get on stage and participate on the song, I stretched my poster written in fluorescent ink.
During "Know Your Enemy", the lead singer called a fan and told him to jump from the stage. In "East Jesus Nowhere", he called a kid, a boy, to "exorcise him". In the song "Are We The Waiting", Billie Joe called a girl to come up on stage, to sing with him, hugging him and so they kissed. When the song "Longview" was about to start, all the people were expecting it. Who was going to be the lucky one? The chosen one to come up on stage and show the band that could cheer people up? Who was going to be this time? So Billie chose: Otávio Júnior came up on stage wearing The Nimrods' shirt, a site about Green Day. The same shirt I was wearing for also being a part of this team. The boy was amazing, he came up on stage so excited, then he had the drummer Tré Cool massaged, talked to the bassist Mike Dirnt, kissed the lead singer who emphasized: "This was the best fucking singer of the whole tour" and as reward, he received Billie Joe's guitar.
A very exciting concert, with interaction between the band and the audience, a great celebration, that I will never forget.
